Premium publishers are dedicating more muscle and resources towards growing their branded content business in 2017; there is $20 billion in branded content revenue up for grabs for publishers, as content advertising is now growing faster than any other segment in the digital advertising ecosystem.
But who’s going above and beyond, and generating the most revenue from branded content right now? We already shared global aggregate trends behind the top 100 publishers in branded content. Today we are excited to unveil the first part of the Branded Content 100 list. This new global publisher ranking is based on estimated revenue and informed by our insights as a trusted partner to many of the world’s largest publishers. As well, our team has leveraged publicly available resources and data, such as financial reports, to generate this list.
We broadly categorized publishers into 4 groups, based on how much revenue they are driving strictly from branded content in digital this year: Over $100 million, between $50-100 million, between $25-50 million, and under $25 million.
The first update in this series highlights the 54 publishers who are each generating $25 million or less this year from branded content and still within the top 100 global ranking. We have categorized the logos by the publishers’ main vertical focus: broadcast (television and radio), digital (digital-focused), magazine (print magazine publications) and news (traditional newspapers).
ˆNote: Across the Branded Content 100 we have aggregated publishers into their highest level parent group (i.e, Disney Media Networks accounts for ABC News and ESPN).
