Knocking Down The Pins Fast: Meet Polar’s Growth MVP

This month we are recognizing Guillaume Jolly as our Growth MVP.

Growth MVP is an initiative where we highlight someone on our team who has personally shown initiative to seek new responsibilities, skills, and experiences that contribute to their own professional or personal growth. We are fostering a culture that promotes Growth & Development as a core value.

When you first meet Guillaume, you’ll see he is a quiet, soft-spoken and a well-mannered guy. And that all changes once you see him bowling, which was the case for me and some of our partners on a recent night out in London.

Guillaume was not only the fastest in knocking down the pins, but also the fastest new team member at Polar to be recognized as a Growth MVP. This is an even more impressive feat of speed, endurance, and commitment.

Guillaume joined our team in London earlier this year in a Technical Account Manager role. At Polar, this has been Guillaume’s first time receiving direct external partner exposure on a regular basis and having the opportunity to take ownership of external relationships on behalf of the business. And I have to say he’s done a fantastic job (and our bar is quite high at Polar!).

Our EMEA business is large, now representing 25% of our global revenue. In the UK, we work with the likes of The Telegraph, News UK, Oath, The Independent, Northern & Shell, TimeOut, Bauer, Johnston Press, Haymarket and Newsquest among others. Within months, Guillaume has deeply embedded himself in these partners and not only understanding key stakeholders but also taking ownership of our platform implementations with all of them.

I have seen him grow professionally very quickly at Polar in the past six months, learning new skills and being open to feedback. His commitment to his own growth is admirable and he approaches new challenges as opportunities to learn. Some of our partners have also started to see his creative side as he’s been bringing new ideas to the table aligned with their growth objectives.
