Toronto, ON | New York City, NY

About The Program

We are looking for a co-op student to join our growing team. Our Core team builds the end-to-end platform components of our MediaVoice product – from client-side JavaScript (including React.js and CoffeeScript), to a Django web app management portal, to backend data processing systems, databases & REST APIs.

Why Polar?

At Polar, we believe in high quality, scalable and beautiful software. Great software is an essential part of great media experiences and great media businesses.

Polar’s platform enables publishers to manage their premium branded content advertising business by providing a full stack technology solution. The world’s largest publishers choose MediaVoice to power their branded content programs. Some media brands using our platform include USA Today, TechCrunch, Engadget, Conde Nast, HuffPost, New York Post, The Telegraph and Sydney Morning Herald.

We’re an agile, engineering lead company. We house a fun, dynamic, and innovative team who have gained a well-deserved reputation for shipping products, features, and updates on time and beyond expectation.

Our bright, big, loft-style downtown Toronto office (a block from Union Station) boasts great natural light and views of the city, free snacks and drinks, a kitchen stocked with breakfast essentials, and an espresso machine to help wake you up in the morning. To help you unwind we’ve got couches, a pool table, and ample choice in seating arrangements.

Our New York office is located on Broadway and 30th in midtown Manhattan with plenty of great food and drink options around. We have a dedicated office within a shared workspace facility called Grind with open concept work tables, couches, meeting rooms and phone booths to suit different working needs. It also comes with free snacks and drinks, a kitchen stocked with essentials, and unlimited coffee and espresso to keep you fueled throughout the day.

Co-op Life At Polar

Co-op placements at Polar are different – you learn, you write code, and that code is used. Your activity actually goes into production. You are assigned a peer/mentor and can come to them with any questions you may have.
