Quality Assurance Developer

Toronto, Canada | Full-Time | QA Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role will involve extensive work with Selenium & Python testing, as well as other testing & measurement tools.

Responsibilities

This role will see you:

  • Work on real software that ships multiple times per week.
  • Maintain & make changes to Polar’s regression & integration test suites covering JS libraries, web applications, and backend systems.
  • Lead analysis work on a per-feature basis to determine test plans and acceptance criteria.
  • Author and manually execute test cases for features that require a human touch or have not yet been automated.

This is an opportunity to be intimately involved with all quality assurance and testing aspects of a major enterprise software product. You will work directly with developers, product managers and the company founders.

Requirements

We’re looking for a proficient developer and tester – years of experience and exposure to particular frameworks or languages are less important than work ethic, skill, virtue, a strong desire to learn & improve, attention to detail, and an inclination towards our problem domain.

You should already familiar with some of the technologies and/or tools we use every day:

  • Python and Django
  • Selenium
  • JavaScript / ES6, React.js, React Storybook, Semantic UI, Grunt, Gulp, Mocha, Sinon.js, webpack, PreCSS, Less, Bootstrap, and jQuery
  • MySQL, Redis, Greenlets, Tornado, Beanstalk, Celery
  • GitHub and JIRA
