Support Engineer/Developer

Toronto, ON | New York City, NY | Full-Time | Engineering

About The Role

We are looking for a Support Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role will involve triage & troubleshooting of customer issues (on-site JavaScript as well as back-end configuration), as well as debugging bugs/issues with pre-released software.

Job Responsibilities

This role will see you:

  • Work on real issues affecting customers’ websites.
  • Pull reports & data from our SQL database to assist customers with reporting and/or discrepancy analysis.
  • Maintain Polar’s knowledge base and other training/instruction materials.
  • Occasionally maintain & make changes to Polar’s code base (readable, maintainable, efficient, and 100% unit tested) covering JS libraries, web applications, and backend systems.

This is an opportunity to be intimately involved with a major enterprise software product. You will work directly with customers, developers, test engineers, product managers, data scientists, and the company founders.

Required Skills

We’re looking for a proficient developer and problem solver – years of experience and exposure to particular frameworks or languages are less important than work ethic, skill, virtue, a strong desire to learn & improve, attention to detail, and an inclination towards our problem domain.
